See the Song

This track was inspired by my love of different varieties of club music. I also wanted to explore outside of my music genre element to try out other genres of music which I haven't attempted before.

Classical Me

This piece was inspired from gothic origins mixed with the famous musical ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and the tv series ‘Game of Thrones’. The organ instrument aspect I reflected from Phantom and the strings/percussion were inspired by the game of thrones battles. Not only that, I decided to fuse these two inspirations with the influence of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, I wanted to created dramatic, tragedy sections and adventure.

Reform Talk

Before even talking about the makings of this track I want to give out a BIG SHOUT OUT BRADLEY MILLER one of my best mates I’ve had the pleasure of studying with and collaborating on this project, cheers again for those sick electric guitar riffs mate! Be sure to check his page out! In terms of the making of this composition I’ve always had a love for rock and heavy metal starting from the sick electric guitar riffs, to bass riffs to those fast driving drums and vocals! My inspiration for this track was none other than another one of my favourite childhood tv show ‘Scooby doo’ and funny enough when I put this onto picture with the chase scenes playing funny enough it worked it was honestly hilariously enjoyable making with and watching how it works for picture like Scooby doo. However, this didn’t stop there I visualised this to being used in: fast racing games, live rock performances, chasing scenes as mentioned before or something you listen to while jamming out in your room or basement blasting it out like no tomorrow while no is at home!

Productive Spirit Level

Disclaimer: Flash warning ⚠️ Productive spirit level- now we get into the main song which is the title for my album as well. Where to even begin with this…well I’ll start off with the idea behind it originally this story was going to be based on my back story. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to make this story so instead I decided to base it on being stuck in a none stop time loop routine. As for the animations I went out and took videos on my phone to record different shots I wanted to include within my video but luckily some of the footage I needed was already saved on some of my devices lol. Anyways, I wanted this to be happy and dancy so I decided to go down this route. I will say it was fun walking around and travelling on transport to shoot these images you are about to see. When it comes to making it look like an animation, I had to use good old iMovie to help assist me with this process and it was enjoyable to edit/cut particular parts that felt too long or didn’t need to be in there. Music wise, I really had to listen carefully to any music notes or chords which didn’t really work so I had to cut a few instruments out which either sounded too high in pitch or distorted. While in the making of this I’ve had feedback from close people saying they can see this in social media contents such as: sports, documentaries or adverts. So, I decided to play around with this track to see how it goes along with the opening of sports games like the cricket opening and surprisingly it worked to the movement or actions of the add!

Again, I’ve never made anything hip-hop before. However, I have listened to a lot through YouTube videos… I thought I would challenge myself by exploring another genre. I have to say, I was pleased with the result. While making this type of music, I had to do a lot of research and listening to this type of genre. I had several inspirational hip-hop artists, which I enjoy listening to ranging from Eminem, Snoop dog, Nicki Minaj, Miss Elliot and Dr. Dre.

Bonus Video (Christmas Song)

First attempt at making a Christmas song and this was worth the result!

Wailing Minds

This piece was inspired by thoughts and by that, I mean that at times we all have moments where we are stuck in our mind sets that we can’t hear anything else, but constant echoes in our heads making us question or second guess any type of move we make. So, I made this a driving-like-ballet type to express how fast these thoughts come and go. This style is a mix between Celtic aspects with contemporary ballet. At the time of making this composition, I felt a lot of people could relate to this type of feeling they get or even picture it while listening to this track. The flute is the leading melody of the piece, while the other instruments are used to help complement the other melodies, rhythms and tempos.

Group of Islands

Sophy

This is specially dedicated to my family, because I know how much they all love listening to reggae/reggae tone music, while enjoying a good drive around places and to be honest I have never done anything like this before so, this was an interesting project for me exploring music that I’ve never really produced before and I loved every moment making this piece! In addition, I added a Spanish/ Brazilian flavour into the mix as well.

Trumpet

Jug of Brushes

Inspired by the old classic retro style of the tv series, ‘Hey, Arnold’ one of my favourite tv shows as a kid. I have been a huge fan of their music styles-particularly the jazz side of it. My second inspiration was ‘Pink Panther’, because I wanted my music motif to sound as smooth and laid back as possible. So, I pictured being in a type of lounge room sitting enjoying listening to the music.

Band on Stage

Stile (Climbing Fences)

Inspired by my ‘Buzz lightyear’ piece I made for a university project. I also, wanted to give this track a slight hint of sense of humour so I came up with the idea of the banjo this idea came to me from another previous project titled ‘Unreal’ where two fight at the start but end up playing a video game and went into a different direction into a humours one. So, I used a similar method which I did with the other one to this composition but took it into a more country humours way while keeping to the uplifting imagination of birds or horses ridding while the sun sets.

Disclaimer: Flash warning ⚠️

One of my many favourite tracks I’ve produced, while creating this music album, I still felt something was missing. So, when I looked at examples such as ‘Earthquake’ by Labyrinth and ‘Pass out’ Tinnie Tempah, I noticed there was a lot of bass and drums involved in the instrumentals to give more of a heart stopping feel, which is what I wanted my sound to sound like. Therefore, I experimented with different types of basses and electric drums till I found ones I liked which, would give more of that heart pounding sound I was looking for, and get my audiences more physically active in the listening to this song.
